This beautiful modern home is set in a quiet estate in Tzaneen, in Limpopo. The client’s brief was for a modern, striking weekend home for him and his family that would take advantage of the views and create an atmosphere of rest as well as one for entertainment when called on to do so. The result is a very modern home that has the ability to envelope the inhabitants in comfort and privacy. The entire Northern side of the house is glazed with stack away glass that opens the house up to the garden, the rim-flow pool as well as the views of the Tzaneen Dam in the distance. This makes for pavilion style living that blurs the lines between the inside and outside of the house.

You enter the house past a large glass wall. You’re greeted by the expansive open plan area that houses the Double Volume TV Room and Dining Room which open up to the patio. The kitchen is open to both these spaces, also with unobstructed views through the house to the outdoors. The cigar lounge is hidden at the back of the public areas of the house but completely opens up to the patio and the living areas of the home simply by stacking away the large glass door sections. The ground floor is finished off with a spacious en-suite guest bedroom and guest loo. At the top of the floating staircase you are met with two en-suite bedrooms with balconies and unending views. On the other side of the bridge across the double volume space is a pyjama lounge and a spacious main bedroom. The house offers inhabitants views from every room and unrivalled levels of sunlight from the north. We’ve also employed a few eco friendly measures -  Rainwater harvesting, solar energy, optimal orientation, insulation and energy efficient glazing all help to reduce the footprint of the home.
